About this resource
WIC is a public health initiative focused on enhancing health outcomes and shaping lifelong nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program emphasizes nutrition education as its foundation, while also providing breastfeeding support, monthly allowances for supplemental nutritious foods, and connections to community resources.

Who can use this
- To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four criteria: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not a requirement) -Be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, or an infant or child under the age of 5. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians may apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Families enrolled in OHP, SNAP, or TANF are automatically considered income-eligible for WIC. -Have a nutritional risk, which will be evaluated during the appointment.
