Options counselors offer support to individuals in making educated choices about long-term care. They assess personal strengths, needs, preferences, and specific circumstances. Counselors provide insights into support strategies, action plans, and available community options. Options Counseling can function as an independent service for participants or may lead to Older Americans Act Case Management (OAA), which is designed for those requiring ongoing assistance to maintain independence. Care coordinators play a role in problem-solving, advocacy, and connecting individuals to resources and community support to improve quality of life and future planning for later years.

Who can use this
- Eligibility for Options Counseling includes individuals aged 60 and above, adults with disabilities, veterans, and their family members or caregivers, while OAA is available for those aged 60 and older.
