About this resource
WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health results and shaping lifelong nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program emphasizes nutrition education as its foundation, while also providing breastfeeding assistance, monthly allowances for additional nutritious foods, and connections to local resources.

Who can use this
- To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not a prerequisite) -Be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, or a child under 5 years old. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians can apply for eligible children. -Have a household income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Families enrolled in OHP, SNAP, or TANF automatically qualify based on income. -Demonstrate a nutritional risk (evaluated during the appointment)
