About this resource
This initiative provides education to the medical community, professionals, self-advocates, caregivers, and anyone interested in fostering welcoming spaces for individuals with disabilities. It can be customized to meet the specific needs of agencies or groups. Training sessions blend the lived experiences of families with factual information about disabilities. The duration of the training can be adjusted according to requirements, with full-day sessions also available. Covered topics include Creating a Welcoming Environment, Individual Education Plans (IEP), Fine Motor Skills, Speech and Language, Financial Planning for Individuals with Disabilities, Person-Centered Planning, and Healthy Eating Habits and Special Diets. Additionally, all classes offer complimentary on-site childcare.
