About this resource

Community mediation offers support to individuals, businesses, neighbors, and families facing conflicts or disagreements. Mediators facilitate understanding, help explore potential solutions, and assist in resolving issues. Conflicts may arise from neighborhood disputes, homeowner association concerns, workplace challenges, consumer and business disagreements, family matters such as separation or child-related issues, financial disputes, landlord-tenant conflicts, land use disagreements, and more. This process is voluntary, collaborative, and confidential, conducted by one or two neutral mediators who do not take sides, provide legal counsel, or enforce outcomes. Mediation services are available for Deschutes County Justice Court Small Claims Court, allowing litigants to settle disputes through mediation prior to a trial. Additionally, periodic training, workshops, and facilitation services are offered for businesses, government entities, and nonprofit organizations.

Intake Procedure: Individuals can walk in, call, or check the website for additional information.

Fees: -Standard Mediation Services: A flat fee of $400 for the first two hours, with $200 for each additional hour. A sliding scale is available. -Family Court Mediation: Fees vary.
