Community Resource

Serves: Redmond, Deschutes County

About this resource

This initiative fosters school readiness by improving the social and cognitive growth of children in a classroom environment, alongside offering educational, health, nutritional, social, and additional services to both children and their families. It places a strong focus on parental engagement, providing services such as parenting classes and support networks. Head Start classrooms are available in Bend, La Pine, Prineville, and Redmond, with classes held four days a week during the school year, which can be either half-day or full-day based on the location. Children benefit from tailored educational experiences, and families are assisted in creating family partnership agreements. Limited school bus transportation is provided for children to most locations. Parents are encouraged to get involved through committee meetings, volunteering, attending educational sessions, participating in home visits, working towards their family goals, and engaging in the Policy Council, which collaborates with the NeighborImpact board to govern the program. Intake Procedure: Call or visit website for information. Fees: None.
