About this resource
This initiative provides financial aid to families with children who are experiencing low income, assisting them in their journey towards self-sufficiency. The cash assistance is designed to cover fundamental necessities such as food, clothing, housing, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may also have the opportunity to engage in the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which supports individuals in earning a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.
Application Process: Individuals can apply through online platforms, by phone, or directly at a local office (please note that Processing Centers do not provide in-person services). After submitting an application: - The local DHS office will reach out to schedule an in-person or phone interview - Applicants have the option to contact the local DHS office to arrange their interview - DHS representatives are unable to leave messages on voicemails that lack the applicant's name in the greeting.
Cost: There are no fees associated with the application.
