About this resource
County Veterans Service Offices (CVSOs) entry points to understanding the benefits, resources, and entitlements available to veterans, their dependents, and survivors. As navigators through USDVA (VA) systems, CVSOs can provide the following: -Veterans' benefits counseling and claims preparation assistance, as well as advocacy throughout the claims process -Counseling on federal VA benefits and other state and federal ancillary benefits -VA Education benefit assistance -Assistance for veterans who wish to enroll in healthcare -Educational benefit claims assistance -Assistance and information about obtaining VA Service-connected and non-service-related disability and survivor benefits -Burial benefits -Information about veteran home loans -Oregon Veterans' Home and ODVA Conservatorship services (financial management for eligible individuals who are legally determined to be "protected persons" under Oregon law) -Speaking engagements to inform and educate about Veterans' benefits
Intake Procedure: Call, or e-mail for more information
Travel/Location: Located on the Basement Level of the courthouse. Entrance is on the west side of the courthouse (City Hall side). Outreach Sites: Reedsport. Call or email to schedule appointment for these locations.

Who can use this
- Veterans, their immediate family members (spouse or un-remarried surviving spouse, child, or stepchild). If a Veteran's discharge is Less than Honorable or General Under Honorable Conditions please e-mail or call for paperwork, guidelines, assistance or referral about Discharge Review or upgrade.
Documents you may need
- Discharge document (DD214 or WGO form or NGB form) is required by USDVA for new claims. If discharge is unavailable, VSO may assist in obtaining one from National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis MO, or Veteran can visit NARA.gov to obtain a copy online, or if the Veteran ever recorded discharge documents at the County Clerk office, the Clerk can provide a copy. If additional documents are required the VSO will inform the Veteran.
