Options counselors support individuals in making knowledgeable decisions about long-term care. They assess each person's strengths, needs, preferences, and specific situations. Counselors offer insights into support strategies, action plans, and options available within the community. Options Counseling can function as an independent service or may lead to Older Americans Act Case Management (OAA), which is designed for those needing continuous assistance to maintain independence. Care coordinators play a role in problem-solving, advocacy, and connecting individuals to resources and community support, ultimately enhancing their quality of life and planning for the future.

Who can use this
- Eligibility for Options Counseling includes individuals aged 60 and older, adults with disabilities, veterans, and their family members or caregivers, while OAA is available to those aged 60 and older.
