The Emergency Management Program focuses on lessening the impact of significant emergencies and disasters on the community by: -Evaluating community hazards and risks -Encouraging and facilitating preparedness initiatives -Creating disaster response and recovery strategies -Training personnel and conducting drills to assess plans and systems -Establishing collaborations and coordinating efforts with public agencies and private entities -Operating an emergency operations center, emergency notification systems, and public safety communication systems to streamline emergency response -Seeking and utilizing emergency preparedness grants -Managing disaster assistance initiatives.
