About this resource
This initiative provides financial support to families with children who are facing low income, helping them work towards self-sufficiency. The cash assistance is designed to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may also have the opportunity to enroll in the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which aids in obtaining a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and essential life skills.
Application Process: Interested individuals can apply online, via phone, or in person at a local office (note that Processing Centers do not provide in-person services). After submitting an application: - The local DHS office will reach out to schedule either a phone or in-person interview - Applicants may also contact the local DHS office to arrange the interview - DHS representatives are unable to leave messages on voicemails that do not clearly state the applicant's name in the greeting.
Cost: There are no fees associated with this program.
