About this resource

WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and shaping lifelong nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program offers nutrition education classes, breastfeeding support, monthly benefits for additional nutritious foods, and connections to community resources.

Fees: There are no fees.

Who can use this

  • To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not a prerequisite) -Be pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding, or have a child under 5 years old. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians can apply for eligible children. -Have a household income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Those receiving OHP, SNAP, or TANF automatically qualify based on income. -Demonstrate a nutritional risk, assessed during the appointment.
