About this resource
Early Head Start encompasses both center-based and home-based programs. The center-based options deliver school day childcare for children aged six weeks to three years for qualifying families. Families who qualify for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can access Early Head Start. The home-based program includes home visits aimed at fostering healthy birth outcomes, promoting child development, and enhancing parenting skills. Additional services for both formats include home visits, parenting classes, goal setting, support, and chances for parents to connect with one another. Early Head Start centers are situated in Stevenson and Goldendale in Washington, as well as Hood River and The Dalles in Oregon. Services offered comprise home visits, socialization parenting classes (where parents and their children interact with others), goal setting, and networking opportunities for parents. Intake requires verification of the enrollee's age, family size, and income for certain programs. For more information, reach out to the Enrollment Coordinator or check the website. No fees are required; visit the website for more details.
