About this resource

This initiative provides financial aid to families with children who are experiencing low income, assisting them in their journey towards self-sufficiency. The cash support aims to cover essential needs like food, clothing, housing, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may also have the opportunity to join the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which helps them earn a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.

Application Process: Individuals can apply online, via phone, or in person at a local office (note that Processing Centers do not provide in-person services). After submitting an application: - The local DHS office will reach out to schedule an in-person or phone interview. - Applicants have the option to contact the local DHS office to arrange their interview. - DHS representatives are unable to leave messages on voicemails that do not identify the applicant's name in the greeting.

Cost: There are no fees associated with this program.
