The cash assistance is designed to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may have the opportunity to join the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which aids in acquiring a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.

After submitting the application: - The local DHS office will reach out to schedule an in-person or phone interview - Applicants can also initiate contact with the local DHS office to arrange the interview - DHS representatives are unable to leave messages on voicemails that do not state the applicant's name in the voicemail greeting.
