The initiative seeks volunteers to engage with children through reading, promoting a love for literature and offering books that children can keep for their own collections. The North Coast Team operates from SMART's main office in Portland, with staff frequently visiting the regions served by this team.

Who can use this
- Participants in the literacy program are children aged 5-10 (from Pre-K to grade 3), while volunteers must complete a national criminal background check.
