About this resource
Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) offers financial aid to working families to assist with child care expenses, facilitating access to quality care for those balancing work and parenting. Support is contingent on available funding.
Application Process: Fill out an application and participate in an interview with a DHS representative -You can print, complete, and send the application via the website -Visit an ODHS Self-Sufficiency Office in person (note that Processing Centers do not accept walk-ins) -Contact your local ODHS Self-Sufficiency Office to request a mailed application.
Costs: ERDC operates as a subsidy program, meaning many families are still responsible for a portion of the child care expenses, known as a copayment (copay). The copay amount varies based on family size and income.
Who can use this
- This program is designed for families that: -Reside in Oregon. -Are employed, enrolled in school, or receiving TANF -In a two-parent household, both parents must be employed or in school (this does not apply to TANF recipients). -There are exceptions for two-parent families if one parent is unable to provide care due to medical or mental health issues, or if state-mandated supervised contact is necessary. -Require child care to maintain employment, attend school, or engage in family well-being activities. Have a child who is: -Under 13 years old and needs care, or -Aged 13 to 17 and requires care due to special circumstances. -Meet specified income thresholds. -Initial income limit is set at 200% FPL, with ongoing and exit limits at 250% FPL.
