About this resource
This initiative provides financial aid to families with children who are facing low income, assisting them in their journey toward becoming self-sufficient. The cash assistance is designed to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may also have the opportunity to engage in the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which supports individuals in obtaining their high school diploma or GED, as well as enhancing their job readiness and life skills.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be submitted online, via phone, or in person at a local office (note that Processing Centers do not provide in-person services). After the application is submitted: - The local DHS office will reach out to schedule an in-person or phone interview appointment - Applicants can also directly contact the local DHS office to arrange the interview - DHS representatives are unable to leave messages on voicemails that do not include the applicant's name in the greeting.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
