The cash aid is designed to cover basic necessities such as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may also access the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which helps them secure a high school diploma or GED, as well as develop job-related and life skills.

After submitting an application: - The local DHS office will contact the applicant to arrange an in-person or phone interview - Applicants have the option to reach out to the local DHS office to schedule the interview - DHS staff are unable to leave messages on voicemails that do not include the applicant's name in the greeting.
