Who can use this
- Individuals aged 18 and older who require intensive psychiatric care for severe and chronic mental health issues. This includes patients in several commitment categories: Civil commitment for those deemed a danger to themselves or others or unable to meet their basic health needs due to mental illness, which encompasses both involuntary and voluntary commitments by guardians; Guilty Except for Insanity (GEI) for individuals who committed crimes due to their mental illness, with oversight from the Psychiatric Security Review Board or the Oregon State Hospital Review Panel based on the crime's severity; and Aid and Assist for those arrested but unable to participate in their trial due to mental illness, who are sent to the hospital for treatment to help them understand their charges and assist in their defense.
