About this resource
The initiative aims to recruit volunteers to engage in reading activities with children, promoting a passion for literature and supplying books that children can keep to enhance their own libraries. The North Coast Team operates from SMART's main office in Portland, with staff frequently visiting the regions served by this team.
Intake Procedure: Interested individuals can walk in, call, or check the website for further details. Volunteer applications can be found online.
Fees: There are no associated costs.
Who can use this
- Participants in the literacy program are children aged 5-10 (Pre-K to grade 3), while volunteers must complete a national criminal background check.
