County Veterans Service Offices (CVSOs) act as the primary access points for veterans, their dependents, and survivors to learn about various benefits, resources, and entitlements. They offer services such as: -Counseling on veterans' benefits and help with claims preparation, along with advocacy during the claims process -Guidance on federal VA benefits and additional state and federal benefits -Support with educational benefit claims -Advocacy and assistance in navigating services -Help for veterans looking to enroll in VA health care -Information on service-connected and non-service-related disability benefits, survivor benefits, and Aid and Attendance for wartime veterans and their surviving spouses -Details on veteran home loans -Conservatorship services for eligible individuals at the Oregon Veterans' Home, including total estate management for those deemed

Who can use this

  • Veterans with any discharge status other than dishonorable and their immediate family members (spouse, un-remarried surviving spouse, child, or stepchild)

Documents you may need

  • A copy of the veteran's discharge document (DD214 or Honorable Discharge). If these records are not available, the VSO will help get them. If other records are needed, the VSO will let the client know.
