About this resource
This initiative provides financial aid to low-income families with children, assisting them in their journey towards self-sufficiency. The cash assistance is designed to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, housing, and utilities. Recipients of TANF may also have the opportunity to join the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which aids in earning a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.
Intake Process: Applications can be submitted online, via phone, or in person at a local office (note that Processing Centers do not provide in-person services). After submitting the application: - The local DHS office will reach out to schedule an in-person or phone interview - Applicants can also contact the local DHS office to arrange the interview - DHS representatives are unable to leave messages on voicemails that do not clearly state the applicant's name in the greeting.
Fees: There are no associated fees.
