About this resource
Flexible services, referred to as "flex funds," consist of non-covered offerings that supplement the benefits of the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) via Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) aimed at enhancing care delivery and the overall health and well-being of members. Eligibility for these services is assessed by the CCO. Examples of services may include: -Housing assistance (such as rent support, rental deposit aid [with a move-in date], utility bill help, and housing programs for women and children) -Short-term motel accommodations (for individuals discharged from hospitals; facing severe weather conditions; having a scheduled move-in date for a new residence and needing temporary lodging; or escaping a domestic violence situation) -Electronics like cellphones, computers, and other communication tools -Educational materials and classes -Family and home resources (e.g., items for child safety, parenting programs, household appliances, climate control devices) -Gym memberships and fitness classes/equipment -Health and substance use prevention assistance. All flexible services are evaluated individually by the CCO. These services are NOT designed for emergencies, and CCOs are not obligated to provide flexible services. Since these services are not covered benefits, denials cannot be appealed, although OHP members can file a complaint.
Intake Procedure: For CCO members: Contact the CCO or visit their website for details. For open card members: Reach out via call or email for information. For clients not enrolled in a CCO: Call for assistance.
Fees: None.
