Community Resource
About this resource
Volunteers provide short-term and one-time help with household tasks. Their services encompass changing light bulbs and filters, seasonal yard maintenance, installing railings, locks, and grab bars, constructing risers for chairs, sofas, and beds, performing minor caulking and weather stripping, along with other small home repairs. They also refer clients to businesses that provide senior discounts. However, they do not handle repairs for small appliances, electrical work, wheelchair ramps, or rental services.
Intake Procedure: Interested individuals should call for details. Applicants will be reached out to verify their eligibility and arrange for the work.
Travel/Location: The service is located on Portland Road (Highway 99) at the intersection with Silverton Road, Highland Street, and Brooks Avenue in Northeast Salem.
Fees: There are no labor charges, but a $25 donation is suggested. All necessary materials must be supplied by the client or referring agency.
