About this resource
This initiative features a day shelter with drop-in services alongside an overnight emergency shelter, catering to youth by providing meals, laundry facilities, showers, personal items, and fostering community connections. Donations of school supplies are welcomed. Key programs include the Runaway and Homeless Youth Program (RHY), which links youth and their families to essential resources, as well as offering mediation and counseling to facilitate family reunification. The aim is to ensure safe transitions from street life, supported by collaborations with local law enforcement, street outreach efforts, and partnerships with the school district and other community organizations. The Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) consists of four components: internships and job placements, financial literacy education, workshops and field trips, and ongoing support. Participants engage in 3-month cycles, with opportunities to earn high school credit for their involvement. Taylor's House serves as a 10-bed emergency shelter, providing study support, social activities, and job training, along with onsite treatment and counseling services, plus meeting rooms for appointments and recreational activities.
Intake Procedure: The Drop In: Individuals can walk in or call for information, while Taylor's House requires a visit to the day center.
Travel/Location: Located two houses from the corner of Church and Union Streets, this three-story building features lime green trim and has "HOME" painted in its windows.
Fees: There are no fees for services.
