About this resource

Summer EBT is a program designed to offer grocery benefits to families, enabling them to buy food for their school-aged children when school is not in session. Each summer, families receive a single payment of $120 on an EBT card for every eligible child to help with grocery expenses. It’s important to note that any unused Summer EBT benefits will expire 122 days after being issued.

Application Process: Families who are not automatically deemed eligible have the option to apply at any time by filling out an application. A call center is available for inquiries regarding general questions, eligibility checks, application status, and EBT card issues.

Costs: There are no fees associated with this program.

Who can use this

Families may automatically qualify for Summer EBT if a participating child was approved for benefits through an application after July 2026, or if they attend a school involved in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP) and meet income requirements, including those receiving SNAP, TANF, or the Oregon Health Plan.
