About this resource
This initiative provides monetary assistance to families with children who are financially disadvantaged, helping them work towards self-sufficiency. The financial aid is designed to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, housing, and utility costs. Recipients of TANF may also have the opportunity to join the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which aids in obtaining a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be submitted online, via phone, or in person at a local office (note that Processing Centers do not provide in-person services). After submission, the local DHS office will contact the applicant to arrange an in-person or phone interview appointment. Applicants can also reach out to the local DHS office to schedule their interview. It is important to note that DHS staff cannot leave messages on voicemails that do not include the applicant's name in the greeting.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
