About this resource
Summer EBT is a program designed to assist families in purchasing food for their school-aged children when school is not in session. Each summer, families receive a one-time payment of $120 on an EBT card for every eligible child to help with grocery expenses. Any unused Summer EBT benefits will expire 122 days after they are issued. A helpline is available for inquiries regarding general questions, eligibility verification, application status, and EBT card issues.
Intake Procedure: Applications for 2026 benefits can be submitted at any time.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
Who can use this
- Families may automatically qualify for Summer EBT if their child is approved for benefits through an application, or if the child attends a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP) and meets specific income criteria. Some families may need to apply if they meet the income thresholds for free or reduced-price meals at school.
