About this resource
WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and promoting healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices for women, infants, and children. The program offers nutrition education classes along with additional services such as breastfeeding support, monthly benefits for nutritious supplemental foods, and connections to community resources.

Who can use this
- To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not necessary for WIC participation) -Be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, or an infant or child under 5 years old. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians may apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income that is less than 185% of the federal poverty level (FPL). Families enrolled in OHP, SNAP, or TANF are automatically considered income-eligible for WIC. -Demonstrate a nutritional risk, which will be evaluated during the appointment.
