About this resource
This initiative provides financial aid to families with children who are facing low income, aiding them in their journey towards self-sufficiency. The cash assistance is designed to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may have the opportunity to join the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which supports individuals in earning a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.

Who can use this
- - Families with children under 18 or pregnant women in their ninth month of pregnancy, where the head of the household is under 18 - Must reside in Oregon - Must have very low or no income and minimal resources (like property, vehicles, or bank accounts) - Applicants must be US Citizens or qualified non-citizens; non-citizen parents can apply for benefits on behalf of their US Citizen children.
Documents you may need
- Proof of ID, proof of income, Social Security numbers (SSN) for all members of the family who want benefits, and proof of immigration status (if applicable). Applicants who have trouble obtaining proof of income or other documents can have an eligibility worker help them obtain income verification and other needed information
