County Veterans Service Offices (CVSOs) act as essential hubs for veterans, their dependents, and survivors to learn about available benefits, resources, and entitlements. They offer a range of services including: -Counseling on veterans' benefits and help with claims preparation, along with advocacy during the claims process -Guidance on federal VA benefits and additional state and federal benefits -Support with educational benefit claims -Help for veterans looking to enroll in healthcare -Assistance in obtaining military service documents -Information on service-connected and non-service-related disability and survivor benefits -Burial benefits -Details about veteran home loans -Oregon Veterans' Home Conservatorship services, which include comprehensive estate management for those legally recognized as "protected persons" under Oregon law.

Intake Procedure: Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Thursday, and appointments can be scheduled by calling on Fridays from 8 am to noon.

Fees: There are no fees for these services.

Who can use this

  • Eligibility extends to veterans of any discharge status and their immediate family members, including spouses, un-remarried surviving spouses, children, or stepchildren.

Documents you may need

  • -A copy of DD214 or Honorable Discharge document. If these records are not available, the VSO will help get them. If other records are needed, the VSO will let the client know. -Marriage certificate, medical records, death certificate (if spouse is applying for benefits)
