SHIBA provides trained volunteers who educate, assist, and advocate for individuals with Medicare. These volunteers guide people in understanding their rights and health insurance options, enabling them to make informed choices. Additionally, SHIBA volunteers can offer insights into the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) program, which is a Medicaid initiative designed to help Medicare recipients cover their medical expenses.
