About this resource
This initiative provides financial aid to low-income families with children, assisting them in their journey towards self-sufficiency. The cash assistance aims to cover essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Participants in the TANF program may also have the opportunity to engage in the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which helps individuals obtain a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.
Intake Procedure: Applications can be submitted online, via phone, or in person at a local office. After submission: - The local ODHS office will contact the applicant to arrange an in-person or phone interview - Applicants have the option to reach out to the local ODHS office to schedule the interview - ODHS representatives cannot leave messages on voicemails that do not include the applicant's name in the greeting.

Who can use this
- Eligible families must: - Reside in Oregon - Have minimal or no income and limited resources (such as property, vehicles, or bank accounts). The applicant must: - Be a parent or caregiver of a child aged 18 or younger, or - Be pregnant, or - Be 18 or younger and the head of their household. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a qualified non-citizen, with parents lacking U.S. citizenship able to apply for benefits on behalf of their U.S. citizen children.
Documents you may need
- Proof of ID, proof of income, Social Security numbers (SSN) for all members of the family who want benefits, and proof of immigration status (if applicable). Applicants who have trouble obtaining proof of income or other documents can have an eligibility worker help them obtain income verification and other needed information
