About this resource

Disability Rights Oregon (DRO) provides advocacy and limited legal services aimed at individuals with disabilities. Their individual advocacy efforts center on equipping callers with essential information and resources regarding their rights, enabling them to advocate for themselves effectively. In certain cases, DRO may pursue litigation to uphold the rights of Oregonians in accordance with relevant federal and state laws. However, DRO does not offer the following services: -Representation in criminal or family law cases -Assistance with job searches, housing, or financial aid -Case management -Support for short-term disability concerns -Transportation to medical appointments -Help with Social Security disability benefits applications or appeals -Estates and trusts -Becoming a guardian for someone with a disability -Issues outside of Oregon -Workers' compensation -Medical malpractice or personal injury claims -Consumer or bankruptcy matters -Any services not aligned with the wishes of the individual with a disability.
