Community Resource
About this resource
The program oversees public housing units designed for low-income individuals, where tenants contribute a manageable portion of their income towards rent.
Application Process: Check the website for details on public housing availability. Typically, applications are accepted only when a community opens its waiting list, and the anticipated waiting period can vary from one year to multiple years.
Transportation: TriMet buses and MAX train services are available within 2-4 blocks of the location.
Rental Costs: Rent prices differ by apartment and program type. In public housing, rent is generally set at around 28.5%-31% of the household's monthly earnings. For non-subsidized apartment communities, rents are usually priced below fair market levels.
