The Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program is designed to aid low-income residents in obtaining rental homes and apartments at typical market rates. In Multnomah County, project-based Section 8 assistance can be found at numerous sites, where the subsidy remains with the unit and cannot be transferred by the tenant. Apartment vacancy listings are refreshed roughly every 4-6 weeks on the website, and calls are accepted to report any misuse of the program.
Intake Procedure: -For Section 8 Housing Voucher Program applications, please visit the website -For all other services, visit the website or call for further details -Documents can be securely dropped off at the building's entrance.
Travel/Location: TriMet buses and MAX train lines have stops located 2-4 blocks away from the facility.
Fees: Rental prices differ based on the specific program.
Who can use this
- -Households with low income -Applicants must be 18 years or older or an emancipated minor under State Law -Individuals diagnosed with a terminal illness and given a life expectancy of 12 months or less can apply for priority status under Section 8.
