Lift Urban Portland
Community Resource
About this resource
This service features a shopping-style emergency food pantry where individuals are required to bring their own shopping bags. Homebound individuals may be eligible for food deliveries.
Intake Procedure: For the pantry, individuals can walk in, with shopping times assigned through a lottery system. Those with restricted mobility should call for details regarding appointments, while food box delivery is available for eligible buildings, which can be checked on the website.
Travel/Location: The Goose Hollow Tri-Met stop services bus lines 6, 24, 51, 58, 63, and 68, as well as the Red and Blue Max lines and the Portland Streetcar. Upon reaching the roundabout, visitors should head up the hill on SW 18th and turn right into the parking lot, where Preston's Pantry is situated towards the end.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this service.
Who can use this
- To use the pantry, individuals must adhere to USDA income guidelines and can receive food twice monthly; additional assistance is available for those facing shopping challenges, and food box delivery is for those unable to shop due to specific barriers.
