About this resource

This advocacy initiative assists students and their families in reaching objectives in four crucial domains: Mind, Body, Spirit, and Context. It provides a range of services, including wrap-around support, advocacy, college tours, workshops for life skills, job training, financial aid help, tutoring, after-school homework assistance, and fostering cultural pride and relevant skills. Participants may receive incentives such as stipends, meals, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and financial support.

Who can use this

  • -Portland Public School District: K-12 self-identified Native American youth -Successful Families 2020: K-12 self-identified Native American youth enrolled in specific schools within the David Douglas and Reynolds districts. -SUN Youth Advocacy: 5th-10th grade self-identified Native American youth in certain schools within Centennial, David Douglas, Gresham-Barlow, Parkrose, Portland Public, and Reynolds districts. OR Region 3: 5th-10th grade students of any race/ethnicity in schools like Alice Ott Middle, Cherry Park Elementary, Gilbert Heights Elementary, Gilbert Park Elementary, Parkrose High, Parkrose Middle, Prescott Elementary, Sacramento Elementary, and Shaver Elementary.
