About this resource
Head Start services aim to prepare children for school by fostering their social and cognitive growth through a range of center-based educational, health, nutritional, and social services for both children and their families, which includes developmental screenings. The program places a strong focus on parental engagement, offering services such as parenting classes and support networks for parents.

Who can use this
- Families with children aged 3-5 are eligible, particularly those with incomes at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Children in foster care, homeless children, and those from families receiving public assistance (TANF, SNAP, or SSI) qualify regardless of income. Families with higher incomes may also be considered based on specific needs, although those with greater needs will be prioritized.

- -Copy of child's birth certificate and/or proof of pregnancy -Proof of last year's income (for all parents/guardians in the home), proof of current year's income (for all parents/guardians in the home), and/or copy of a pay stub, a letter from an employer, or a letter from DHS or unemployment with verification of job training
