About this resource
This initiative provides financial support to low-income families with children as they work towards becoming self-sufficient. The cash assistance aims to cover essential needs, including food, clothing, shelter, and utilities. Recipients of TANF may have the opportunity to engage in the Jobs Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program, which helps individuals obtain a high school diploma or GED, along with job readiness and life skills training.
Intake Process: Applications can be submitted online, via phone, or in person at a local office. After the application is submitted: - The local ODHS office will contact the applicant to schedule an in-person or phone interview - Applicants can reach out to the local ODHS office to arrange the interview - ODHS staff cannot leave messages on voicemails that do not include the applicant's name in the greeting.
Location: Situated off 82nd and Flavel, behind the 7-Eleven store.
Fees: There are no fees associated with this program.
Who can use this
- Eligible families must reside in Oregon, have minimal or no income and resources, and the applicant must be a parent or caregiver of a child under 18, pregnant, or a head of household under 18; US citizenship or qualified non-citizen status is required.
Documents you may need
- Proof of ID, proof of income, Social Security numbers (SSN) for all members of the family who want benefits, and proof of immigration status (if applicable). Applicants who have trouble obtaining proof of income or other documents can have an eligibility worker help them obtain income verification and other needed information
