About this resource

The Employment Related Day Care program (ERDC) provides financial support for child care to families who are employed, enrolled in school, or receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), covering costs such as registration fees.

Application Process: You can apply online, via phone, or in person at a local ODHS Self-Sufficiency Branch Office. More details and an income chart can be found on the website.

Costs: ERDC operates as a subsidy program, meaning that many families are still responsible for a portion of the child care expenses, referred to as a copayment (copay). The copay amount is determined by the family's size and income.
