WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and promoting lifelong nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program includes nutrition education classes, breastfeeding support, monthly allowances for supplemental nutritious foods, and connections to community resources.

Who can use this

  • To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not mandatory) -Be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, or an infant or child under the age of 5. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians may apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income that is below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Families enrolled in OHP, SNAP, or TANF are automatically considered income-eligible for WIC. -Have a nutritional risk that will be evaluated during the appointment.
