The Section 504 Home Repair Loan and Grant Program provides support to homeowners in qualifying rural areas to eliminate health and safety risks, renovate, enhance, or modernize their residences, and ensure accessibility for those with disabilities. The program offers a maximum loan of $40,000, with a repayment term of 20 years at a 1% interest rate, and grants can go up to $10,000. Both loans and grants may be combined for additional support.

Who can use this
- -Must reside in a rural area with a population of 35,000 or less -Must be the homeowner and live in the house -Must be unable to secure affordable credit from other sources -Household income must not exceed county limits -Grants available for individuals aged 62 and older who cannot repay a repair loan -Manufactured homes located in parks are not eligible for mortgage loans.
