Migrant Education is a federal initiative that allocates funds to assist state and local educational agencies in eliminating obstacles that hinder migrant students' enrollment, attendance, and academic success. The program offers a range of services, including tutoring, personalized assistance during or after school, summer school, complimentary 24-hour accident injury insurance, support for parental involvement, connections to community resources, and guidance for older students transitioning to college and careers.

Who can use this

  • To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements: -Aged 21 or younger -Eligible for free public education through grade 12 and not yet graduated or obtained a GED -Relocated within the last 36 months due to economic necessity from one residence and school district to another, or to join a parent, guardian, or spouse who is a migratory agricultural worker or fisher -Engaged in new qualifying temporary or seasonal work in agriculture or fishing within 60 days of moving -Employment duration in agricultural or fishing industries must be less than 12 months.
