About this resource
Many NPS sites are free, but fee-charging parks accept a standard pass, a park-specific annual pass, or an America the Beautiful pass; you only need one. Standard passes cover one park for 1–7 days, annual passes cover one park or a small park group for a year, and America the Beautiful passes cover entrance and standard day-use fees across multiple federal agencies with annual and lifetime options. - Military/Veterans – Military Annual and Military Lifetime Passes (free for current US military, dependents, Gold Star Families, and veterans). - Seniors – Senior Annual Pass ($20) and Senior Lifetime Pass ($80) for US citizens and permanent residents ages 62 and older. - Volunteers – Volunteer Pass for people who complete 250 hours of qualifying service at federal recreation sites (free). - General Admission – America the Beautiful Annual Pass for everyone ($80) plus other park-specific annual passes for certain parks or park groups.
