About this resource
WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and shaping lifelong nutrition and health habits for women, infants, and children. The program's foundation is built on nutrition education, supplemented by services such as breastfeeding assistance, monthly allowances for nutritious foods, and connections to community resources.

Who can use this
- To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not mandatory for WIC participation) -Be pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding, or have a child under 5 years old. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians can apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Those receiving OHP, SNAP, or TANF are automatically considered income-eligible for WIC. -Demonstrate a nutritional risk (evaluated during the appointment)
