About this resource

WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and shaping lifelong nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program offers nutrition education classes, breastfeeding support, monthly allowances for supplemental nutritious foods, and connections to community resources. To enroll, individuals should call for details and to arrange an appointment. There are no fees associated with the program.

Who can use this

  • To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not a prerequisite) -Be pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding, or have a child under 5 years old. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians may apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Families enrolled in OHP, SNAP, or TANF are automatically eligible based on income. -Have a nutritional risk, which will be evaluated during the appointment.
