Building Healthy Families
Community Resource
About this resource
This service offers car seat inspections and installations by certified technicians, and caregivers can buy car seats, provided the child is present for proper fitting.
Intake Procedure: Schedule an appointment by phone.
Fees: Car seats are available on a sliding scale according to income, with priority given to low-income families. Households earning at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) are charged $10 for an infant or convertible car seat and $5 for a booster. Those with incomes between 100-200% FPL pay half the car seat's cost. Families above 200% FPL can purchase a car seat at its full price. Car seat inspections are complimentary.
