About this resource

WIC is a public health initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and shaping lifelong nutrition and health practices for women, infants, and children. The program includes nutrition education classes, breastfeeding support, monthly allowances for supplemental nutritious foods, and connections to community resources.

Fees: There are no costs involved.

Who can use this

  • To qualify for WIC, applicants must meet four requirements: -Reside in Oregon (US citizenship is not mandatory) -Be a pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding woman, or an infant or child under 5 years old. Fathers, foster parents, and other guardians can apply for a qualifying child. -Have a household income that is below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Households receiving OHP, SNAP, or TANF are automatically considered income-eligible for WIC. -Demonstrate a nutritional risk (to be evaluated during the appointment).
